This elite school is designed to develop the technique of each individual player at a very young age. Our curriculum has a six-part component comprised of the following:

  1. Ball Mastery: emphasis on each player working independently with the ball using both feet.  Repetition is the key here.
  2. Receiving and Passing: this will involve exercises to improve a player’s touch and increase accuracy as well as creativity in passing.
  3. Moves (1vs.1): exercises which teach the moves that can create space against any defense.
  4. Speed, Agility and Coordination: focus will be on acceleration, running with and without the ball as well as change of pace.
  5. Finishing: game play and exercises that teach techniques for finishing as well as nurturing instinctive play.
  6. Group Play: games and exercises that improve small-group combination play.

Who can participate?

The school is available for both boys and girls from age 7 through 10 years of age.  The players will be divided into groups based on their ability.

What is the difference between the Academies and this School?

The Academies are designed to form teams that will eventually become a part of a club, so the players are evaluated and trained in a team environment.

The school is designed to focus on each individual player rather than on the team.  All of the small sided games will be played in the school simply to apply the correct techniques and encourage combination play.

Can a player participating in the school play for other teams or academies?

The purpose of the school is to develop players individually and therefore, teams will not be formed in the school.  Players can play for any team or academy that they choose to play for in their free time.  Players in the Dallas Texans Soccer School are in no way obligated to play on the Dallas Texans Academy teams.

Who will conduct the training?

All of the training will be conducted by Dallas Texans coaching staff.

How often will the players practice?

The school will run from mid-February through the end of May  and mid-August through the end of November.

U-9 and U-10 will practice twice a week.

          Monday - 4:45pm till 6:00pm

          Wednesday - 4:45pm till 6:00pm

U-7 and U-8 will practice once a week.

          Tuesday – 4:45pm till 6:00pm

What should the players wear and bring?

Players will receive a free Dallas Texans Soccer School of Excellence t-shirt.  With it they will wear black shorts and white socks.  They will bring soccer balls and water.

Where will the school be held?

All of the training will be held at the brand new Dallas Texans Soccer Complex in Farmers Branch.  For direction, please check the Dallas Texans website under “Field Directions”.
