Roy Rees
Rest in Peace

11/26/11:
The Dallas Texans were very sad to learn that youth soccer pioneer Roy Rees passed away on November 25, 2011. Roy was the first club director of the Houston Texans and was partly responsible for the huge growth of soccer in Houston in the mid 1980s. He also authored a best-selling book on soccer coaching. As head coach of the US U-17 National Team from 1985 through 1993, Roy Rees led the team to four consecutive appearances in the World Cup.

Roy was an invaluable mentor to the Dallas Texans and was instrumental to our founding in 1993 and success as a club. His contribution to youth soccer in Texas is unmatched and the Dallas Texans would like to send our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
