BIO:

Paul Stewart grew up in Dallas and graduated from St. Mark’s School of Texas in 1974. He then earned a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies and a Master’s degree in Humanities from Stanford University in 1978, and a law degree in 1981 from the University of Texas, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Texas International Law Journal. He practiced international business law for ten years, including internships in Munich, Paris and Singapore, and became a partner in Baker & McKenzie, the world’s largest law firm.

In 1991, Mr. Stewart left his law practice to become part owner and President of the U.S. operations of the Leibinger group of companies. Leibinger is based in Germany and is a leading medical device manufacturer in the fields of facial reconstruction, neurosurgery, and precision radiotherapy. During 1995-96, Mr. Stewart helped arrange the sale of the Leibinger companies to Pfizer. Mr. Stewart then served within Pfizer as the worldwide President of the Leibinger group, which included two significant manufacturing facilities in Germany and global sales, marketing, product development, and distribution teams. He also served as a member of the Management Board of Howmedica, a $1 billion Pfizer subsidiary in the orthopedic market. Mr. Stewart left these positions at the end of 1999 when Pfizer sold Howmedica and Leibinger. He then helped found a venture capital fund investing in technology companies in the healthcare industry. He also helped found two start-up nutritional supplement companies that he later merged into Nutritional Holdings, a high quality manufacturer of nutritional supplements, where Mr. Stewart served as Chairman until the company was sold in 2009.

Since Mr. Stewart became President of the Dallas Texans in 2003, the Club has grown from 1,500 players in 5 divisions in North Texas to over 20,000 players in 13 divisions in 9 cities in 3 states and Canada. During that time, the Club has also won more national championships than any other US youth soccer club in history. Mr. Stewart has helped the Club build a soccer complex with 6 world class fields, a clubhouse, and a facility for indoor soccer and speed/agility/strength training. In 2009, the Club became the exclusive US affiliate of Manchester United, one of the storied clubs of world professional soccer. In 2010, the Club became the host club of the Dallas Cup, the leading international youth tournament in America.

Aside from serving as President of the Dallas Texans, Mr. Stewart is a member of the Advisory Board of the Dallas Cup/Dallas is Diversity, and is the founding Chairman of the Board of the North Texas Chapter of the Positive Coaching Alliance. He became a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization in 1994 and the World Presidents’ Organization in 2006 (Chapter Chairman 2010). Mr. Stewart’s wife Melissa is an equity shareholder in the law firm of Winstead PC. She also serves on the Board of Governors of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the Board of Trustees of The Winston School (Chair 2010). His son Brent won a national championship with the 1987 Dallas Texans, then attended and played soccer at Stanford University, and is currently the General Manager and Goalkeeper Coach of the Dallas Texans. His daughter Meg won a national championship with the 1991 Dallas Texans, and attends and plays soccer at SMU.

Partnership to focus on coaching and player development at America’s #1 - ranked youth club


Top US soccer club Dallas Texans have teamed up with Manchester United to offer players the chance of a lifetime – to train with Manchester United at its world class Carrington training centre. The players will be accompanied by Dallas Texans coaches who will share the latest coaching techniques.

In addition, coaches from Manchester United will travel to Dallas to help identify players and offer their advice and expertise in the youth team’s coaching sessions.   Brian McClair, Director of the Manchester United Academy said, “This is a great opportunity for the Dallas Texans.
