FRISCO, Texas (September 30, 2009)
Today, Soccer America magazine named the Top 40 boys and girls youth soccer clubs in America. Again, US Youth Soccer continues as the common thread of America's best. Now in its seventh installment, Soccer America selected the top 40 boys and girls clubs, based on success of their teams in national youth competitions over the last three years and national recognition for players from these clubs in 2009.

The most important criteria for determining "Soccer America's Top 40 youth rankings" was success in the US Youth Soccer National Championships during a three-year cycle (2007-2009) and the number of players who went on to U.S. Soccer National Teams and were selected to US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program All-Star rosters.

"It has been a fantastic year for us that included our affiliation with Manchester United, one of the top clubs in the world, having five teams in the US Youth Soccer National Championships, our U-16 Boys crowned US Youth Soccer National Champions, making history in the Dallas Cup by winning three championships in one year and now this, being recognized by Soccer America as one of the top clubs in the country. Needless to say, this makes me very proud and at the same time very grateful and thankful for all of the hard working people in our organization who help to make these things possible. With all of the great clubs around the county, it is not easy to be recognized as No. 1 for the last several years," said Hassan Nazari, founder and director of coaching of the Dallas Texans. Nazari is also the coach of the 2009 Under-16 Boys US Youth Soccer National Champions.

U-18 Training with Manchester United

MANCHESTER UNITED TRIP
Complete success in every aspect

Four coaches and five players from our club just got back from the first visit to Manchester United FC.  According to Hassan Nazari, Director of the Texans, the trip was very informative and our coaches and players learned greatly from the Manchester United Academy coaches.   He also said that it isn’t a surprise that Manchester United is one of the best and most professional football clubs in the world.  Man U demonstrated the highest level of training and professionalism and instilled this into their young players at the Academy level.

It was a fantastic trip for our own boys to be exposed to that type of training and very educational for our coaches who observed the training methods.  We will be implementing some of their programs and ideas into our own soccer training program very soon to make our club even more successful and to benefit each player in our organization.  As we continue with our affiliation with Man U, we will develop more opportunities to interact with each other in order to allow for our club to constantly evolve and become better.

Our trip concluded with watching the 2010 World Cup qualifier between England and Croatia in the state of the art Wimbley Stadium.  England won!

Brian McClair in the USA
Released June 29,2009

At the end of June, Academy Manager Brian McClair travelled to Dallas with Academy Coach John Cooke and Manchester United Soccer Schools’ International Program Manager Tony Byrne to deliver a series of coaching sessions as part of Manchester United’s latest venture to work alongside grassroots clubs in the USA.

The association between Manchester United and one of the most prestigious youth soccer clubs in the USA, Dallas Texans, was promoted by Nike USA to encourage the sharing of philosophies and coaching practices. As the first in its kind for all parties, it has been implemented with a great deal of anticipation, and now success.

The key component of this inaugural trip was for both clubs to learn more about their respective structures and environments and involved a series of coaching sessions delivered by the Academy coaches at the impressive Ross Stewart Soccer Complex, home of the Dallas Texans.

With approximately 18,000 young players, both boys and girls, representing the club in various cities across the State of Texas, as well as affiliate programs in Florida and Canada, the Dallas Texans are renowned throughout the USA as one of the leading clubs in the country. By having the Manchester United coaches in Dallas for the week, the Texans were eager to expose their coaches, players and parents to the coaching methods employed throughout the year at the Academy in Carrington.

Dallas Texans Soccer Club partners with positive coaching alliance

Focuses on winning and life lessons for youth athletes

November 6, 2008 Plano, Texas– The Dallas Texans Soccer Club has established a partnership with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) to ensure a positive, character-building experience for all youth athletes in the Dallas Texans Soccer Club programs. PCA (www.PositiveCoach.org), a Stanford University-based non-profit organization, conducts workshops for coaches, organizational leaders, and parents involved in schools and sports organizations serving five-to-18-year-old athletes. PCA also provides workshops for high school athletes.

“Working with hundreds of youth sports organizations around the United States, PCA has developed practical tools and guidelines to help youth athletes, their coaches and parents get the most out of sports,” said Hassan Nazari, Founder of the Dallas Texans Soccer Club. “We recognize the tremendous opportunity for character-building that sports offers for today’s youth, so we are embracing PCA’s Double-Goal CoachTM model, where winning is one goal and teaching life lessons is the second, more-important goal.”

“We are delighted to partner with the Dallas Texans Soccer Club,” said PCA Executive Director Jim Thompson. “Together, we’ll strive to help their youth athletes take a positive approach to pursuing victories in athletic competition and in life.”

The Dallas Texans are the first youth sports club in North Texas to adopt the PCA program. The workshops are scheduled to begin in January 2009.

Dallas Texans Soccer Club Ranked
#1 in Boys and Ranked #2 in Girls

"I would like to thank Soccer America for noticing the hard work that youth clubs around the country are putting into their programs. This truly is an honor for the Dallas Texans Soccer Club players, parents and coaches. An accomplishment like this will help soccer clubs, such as the Texans, to attract more serious soccer players and more dedicated parents," said Hassan Nazari, founder and director of the Dallas Texans. "What I like the most about this honor is that it does not only recognize the wins and losses, but it looks at the development of the youth player. Being successful in the US Youth Soccer National Championships Series and constantly producing and developing youth players for the state and regional US Youth Soccer ODP teams as well as the national and college teams will help our club to be noticed. Once again, on behalf of the Dallas Texans coaching staff, players, parents and volunteers, I would like to thank Soccer America for this great honor."

Over the week of April 8th – 12th Ottawa South United was please to host Dallas Texans Girls Director of coaching Ryan Higginbotham for a week of player and coaching development sessions. During his visit coach Higginbotham worked with U13-U16 girls teams and a 13 boys team. In addition to the training sessions he held a coaches presentation for OSU technical staff and coaches.

The training sessions and coaching clinics were very well received by OSU players, coaches and parents. ” This type of coaching development, player opportunities and exchange of club philosophies and ideas is at the heart of why OSU affiliated with the #1 Club in the United States”, commented OSU President Bill Michalopulos. During his sessions coach Higginbotham, covered system of play, training environment emphasizing creativity, fitness and functional training.

Ryan currently has 7 girl players in the US National team programs and his Dallas Texans teams consistently compete for National Championships, said Kwame Telemaque, OSU Boys Head coach. “Our players and coaches being exposed to this type of training will raise the bar for our players.”

In addition to training OSU players Ryan took the opportunity to evaluate OSU players for future guest playing opportunities with the Texans in top level showcase tournaments. Looking to the future, as part of our exchange arrangements, OSU will be hosting Dallas Texans teams this summer for a week of preseason training.
